The latest upgrade ( iOS 7 ), to the much admired Apple’s iOS is its best upgrade so far. Apple users will have a lot of new features to enjoy. Today, we will guide you through the process of upgrading your apple devices ( iPhone, iPod and iPad ) to iOS 7.
Step 1: Check whether your device is compatible.
Just to make sure that it can hold the new version, check if your Apple device is present in the given list:
iPod touch, 5th generation
iPad with retina display
Unfortunately, the older versions do not have this upgrade, but the newer version of apps are made available to them.
(The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C come packed with iOS 7. So, no upgrade is required)
Step 2: Download required software
All you need is the iTunes software and you can download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Install it on your computer.
It is necessary to download the latest version of iTunes to download and install iOS 7.
You can update to iOS 7 directly from your apple device without installing this software. It is discussed at the end.
Step 3: Back your files up
Connect your apple device to the desktop. Open the iTunes application on your desktop and wait for iTunes to recognize your device.
Now, select the summary tab. You should see ‘Back up now’ button on the screen. Click it. Your settings will be saved into your computer. You can restore the files after your upgrade.
Step 4: Upgrade process
If an update is available, iTunes automatically detects and intimates you whether to download the latest version or not. Click on ‘Download and Install’.
You cannot use your device while iTunes installs the software and prepares your device, after downloading. After the process is finished, your device welcomes you to use it by displaying ‘Hello’.
If iTunes does not show this option, select the ‘Check for update’ button on the ‘Summary’ tab. The application should contact the software upgrade server. You will get ‘Update’ option if an update option is available to your device.
(If it shows ‘your device is running the current version’ wait for a while and check later)
Do not disconnect until the process is complete.
Step 5: Restore your Apple device
Now that your apple device is up to date, it is time to get back what you saved. Select the ‘Restore Backup’ option. Click on ‘Restore’ on the pop up. Your content will be restored.
Now your Apple device is up to date and is ready to be used.
Note: You can also install the iOS 7 update directly from your compatible Apple device through wifi. To do this,
